Don't be too anxious for a new uniform. I saw a prototype and it was pretty bad. Looked like it was designed by a bunch of pilots

So...... each crew member wears something different and none of it fits?

Well, after much thought, I finally bought a nice leather jacket a few months back. It's real nice, and I'd be real upset if the company decides to prohibit wearing it.

By my unofficial observation, the legacy brass/slick tie contingent is a fraction of what it was, but there are always going to be those outliers who don't play well with others.

I keep hearing it repeated, but have yet to see one. Perhaps I should get out more?

I also don't understand why it rankles some guys so much. Both legacy wings look better than the stuff issued post merger, and much better than heavily festooned cowboy boots or black reeboks.

and better than a$$less chaps too... but I digress...

As a post-merger guy I've seen the legacy wings several times and honestly it comes across to me as a little immature. The old companies are gone and the new one is the one paying your bills, 401K and profit sharing and shaping your new future for better or worse. Just move on. The least the old wings are going to do is rankle some feathers if you have an FA group from the other legacy, and it's setting an adversarial tone right from the gun if your FO (or CA) came from the other side.

If you want to have your 15 pieces of legacy flair, keep them on your rollaboard

You haven't broken the code on how to tell which legacy a pilot is from? Blue background vs White background in the company picture. FAs know who you are before you get to the gate.

Not true anymore. It all depends on which base you got your picture taken in.
