More than once I've suggested to said offenders that they visit moveon.org and get over it.
Yes it was an interesting conversation....I was polite but assertive....they were highly embarrassed....hopefully they learned something

Nothing as long as they adhere to the FOM policy. I'm talking about the hillbilly pointy toed, jacked up heal cowboy boots I've seen.

Wings, hats, jackets....ALPA pins? All part of the uniform. I just flew with a guy, LCO, from IAH, no ALPA pin. He's retired military. 3rd trip out of SFO 777.

Met in ops. Asked what kind of pin he had on his tie, retired Army. Hmm, where were you hired?.....Says, "Doesn't matter any more." So he thinks I'm going to give him grief over CO, nope, no ALPA pin!

Turns out it was a simple misunderstanding. He did not understand the importance of wearing the ALPA pin, his pin broke the pin off the back and didn't know how to get a new one. So, no problem, we talked, I told him how, trip was great. He'll have a pin for his next trip, BTW, a 20 year pin. Just didn't know. Now he does.

Educate your piers. Contract talks are just around the corner. Sorry for high jacking the thread, but it was on my mind.

Mentoring. Some piers are more difficult than others.

Ok, I had my reservations, but I have to take him at his word. Agreed. After how many years the merger goes on, and he didn't know? Hopefully he'll wear it now. He did get a landing...and he did live through flying helicopters in the army, that has to count for something.

SFO is by far the worst as far as being still hung up on the merger and how bad CAL is/was.

Saw a guy get out of the hotel van with a goatee and about 15 pieces of L-UA bling to include the old wings and hat.

Before you think I'm anti-UA (I'm not) I'll agree that whiny CAL pilots have cornered the market on not wearing the ALPA pin because of some imagined wrongdoing.

Real hillbillies wouldn't be caught dead in cowboy boots. They wear clodhoppers.

I'm not sure I agree with you. SFO is on the fringe certainly. But in a good way. Wear your pin. We have a fair amount of scabs, so buyer be ware. That is where I think the hang up is. Not necessarily about the merger. Scabs, yes.

Except many of the Scabs are adorned with pins everywhere. The pin doesn't separate the good and bad. You have to have a lineup to know the players.

Saw a guy hold the elevator for a scab, give him the friendly chit chat and regards. The scab was a ALPA pin wearer from the forgiven tribe. I recognized his name the other pilot didn't.

I think that says a lot about ALPA when they are willing to forgive and give pins to those scabs. The corporation of ALPA is more important than the morality of ALPA.
