By the contract, no such thing as BES they are Categories!

2-K Category is a Base, Equipment, and Status combination (e.g. ORD 756 F/O) to which a Pilot is assigned.

The Base is called DCA not IAD

2-F Base means a geographical location designated by the Company where pilots are based.

LAX has done it before as a W, LAX-NRT-DEN-NRT-LAX, probably do so again.

So you're saying that they're not closing the IAH 787 BES. Great news!

Chillax homie. The Contract doesn't say "bumpity bumps" either.....but it's a lot more fun than saying "displacements"

Prob LA via long 6 day trip. Double augment DH will go ludicrously senior.

The way I read it category and BES are the same thing, are they not? I don't see the difference.

20 Captains and 45 FOs open for bid today on 787 DCA.

This will be interesting to see if anyone bids it without the knowledge of what the end state will be. They have put out no projections for how large the 787 base will be and what the 777 base will shrink down to.

Certainly will be a money making opportunity for line holders being bought off for IOE.

my guess is that this round will go junior for FOs... same thing happened a couple years ago in IAD when the 777 seats opened up... first couple bids went junior and then started going senior. My question is what will happen to the IAD 777 base? Will the new 787 routes to PEK and LHR take away more trips from the 777 base or are they additional? I'm wondering if we will see a 777 displacement in the late Fall dependent on how many FOs bid off the IAD 777 BES this Summer and Fall...
