I know the city pairs are announced for IAD 787, but has anyone seen the trip pairings?

Arn't several of those city pairs now being flown by the triple? I'd have to assume that the 787 pairing would look nearly identical to the existing ones.

Not necessarily the same...what if they fly LHR or CDG as a W thru SFO? That would be a little bit different than now. Guys might be expecting all easy 3 day trips and they might get hoodwinked when they find out all the trips are 6 days.

I see what your saying however Ws are most likely not in the plan. After the 400 pilots and the IAH pilots pick their new bases and rides, SFO and LAX are going to be way fat on pilots, flying a W is going to make that even worse. In fact losing the CDG W from SFO and the LHR W from LAX is going to make us even more overstaffed.

You're right. And then add to that another 30 captains and 30 f/o's when they close LAX 777. We're down to 897 hours for May, which is 1/3 of what we had in March.

Assuming roughly the same pairing credit as other fleets currently have, line credit vs TAFB isn't terribly appealing. I think you'll see very few lines that operate in one theatre, and most operating in all 3 to make guarantee. I'm shocked the snapshot went so senior.

As another poster said, "one mans treasure...."

Just another data point to throw into the mental masturbation mix. I emailed P. Carlson and he projects that the FO manning on 777 to be about 70 fewer than where it is today...so approximately 140 FOs and whatever number of Captains that corresponds to.

He said to anticipate a growth in the guppy fleet in DCA over the next few months but didn't quantify an amount.

Per the min max bulletin, the 777 currently has 229 F/O's, and 105 Captains.

Public napkin math would put the number of Captains around 70-75.

if the 787 is getting 85ish FOs (for GRU, LHR, PEK, and CDG) why would the triple be giving up 70 FOs just for the PEK trip? Are they also over staffed or planning to lose more flying?

Prior to this bid coming out, planning had said the 777 was overstaffed by about 25 FOs. Just 3 months ago, we had 250 FOs on the staffing list. About a dozen guys took guppy captain bids. The numbers are certainly dwindling. Yesterday's snapshot had 19 FOs bidding over to Sparky.
