After the 2 Feb classes there probably still be around 50 in the pool, plus however many furloughs come back this year.
It was my understanding the last furloughee returned in December. Can anyone vouch for that?

They’ve all been offered recall. As MoP mentioned, they now have a drop dead date.

Can’t remember the number, over 200 still?

Got a friend about to interview that has been a 121 CA for 10 years and lots of internal recs.

The market is still very competitive.

I feel like the hardest things to get on the app are the LOR. I fly for an AA regional and know zero people at UAL. Going to a job fair next month as a recruiter but I’m still doubtful I can get to know that many guys who would be willing to write a LOR.

Take it FWIW, and it was from the previous manager of pilot selection, there's a new on now.

But it wasn't so much about internals as it was that the person writing the rec could speak of/vouch for your character, integrity, contributions, etc.

I actually heard the complete opposite from someone who was involved in hiring. It was more about numbers with internal LORs to trigger points (5 letters) within the system. Rarely are LORs even read and usually only at the review board if needed. Who knows what really happens behind the curtain.

Agreed. Just repeating the words from a recruiting event. Although said person has misspoke more than one time at a recruiting event.

But we all know pilots hired that had less than the magical 5 internals, but no shortage of externals. Which just echoes the bold.

So it's whatever magic formula gets past the computer screening.
