Sorry to burst the pessimistic myth-bubbles here, but the company is not short pilots nor has the company been relying on increased SRM to maintain schedule integrity. Also, I just got back from Denver and had lunch with one of the individuals in charge of implementing the FOX system. The system has not yet been "turned on" and is still being "manually" loaded every month with a schedule produced by human managers because the first part of FOX they actually turned on was the CQ grading using iPads and that failed so the folks in charge are delaying implementation of FOX until they are sure it is working 100%.

In addition, the Schedule Committee publishes a detailed monthly report with all the stats needed to determine the reality of the myths being proposed here. Notice the company maintains close to a 1000 pilot surplus above what they consider to be "min" staffing, and what's more if you look at other items in the reports you will find that SRM has gone down in just as many BES and months as it has gone up and regardless SRM continues to be a tiny percentage of total hours flown.

Here's another interesting chart. It happens in this comparison SRM is up, but if I will simply say that if you look month by month it varies most likely due to major weather events.

I thought for sure I would be flying over Christmas, but I dropped dead for landings on 9 Dec and did not go to Landings class until 26 Jan.

I'm at 49% in base as DCA 756 FO. I fully expect to be busy this summer. I bid reserve during the school year intentionally. It's nice to be around for a lot of the kids' events.

I understand my example is on the other extreme in comparison to the aforementioned examples.
Same base, same seat, at 78%
Dropped dead for landings on Dec. 31st. Was in landings class on Jan. 3rd. How’d you manage one still two days away?!?!

Heard from a buddy who had a buddy do a CP meet & greet last week in EWR.

From the CP's mouth....

"Currently, to get a Hogan invite, you need at least 5,000 hours (civilian only of course), 5 internal pilot recs, and volunteer work on your app. By July, they may loosen on some of this stuff."

Again, second hand info so who knows, but thought I'd throw it out there.

I really don’t think that’s accurate unless they have gotten more selective

Curious if any of the recent invitees had anything less? Maybe some will chime in.

With as few as they plan on hiring this year, could be possible.

After the 2 Feb classes there probably still be around 50 in the pool, plus however many furloughs come back this year.
