Actually, I don't see it as "damn the pilots below" whatsoever. With seniority comes associated benefits. Why should 80% of the pilot group be subjected to what 20% hate. Sounds similar to the government redistributing wealth.

Amazing concept.. allowing everyone to experience what 'current' reserve rules are like, maybe once a year.
Actually always thought this wouldn't be a bad thing, and know that some airlines either still do it, or use to. The idea of doing in on your Training month is actually brilliant. Would allow everyone to have different months during the course of their careers. Maybe give them 13 days off too, plus 74 hrs of pay.. Alas, it will never happen because the senior pilots of Legacy United will never allow such a thing to happen, even if it were to be shown to build unity within the ranks. Just like we will never see major changes to the sick leave section while one group of pilots has tons of sick time in their banks. Damn the pilots below! Motch Better yet, lets fight for a complete re-write of the reserve section as well as many more chapters by not passing these insidious extensions. Amazing how fast we'll all sell each other out for a few silver coins. |

Would never support this Tomfoolery. Pay your dues and get off reserve if and when you can. Rewriting the rules well after some of us have already paid the piper is double jeopardy and would never, (thank god), fly at UAL.

If you told the people on reserve they had the choice of a 15% pay raise, or a complete rule re-write with improvements to reserve that would not net them any more money, but give them more days off and better QOL, I bet that 79% of the would say "**** the QOL improvements, I'll take the money" and then they would come on here and complain about how terrible reserve is.

I see CQT fill ins that according to Crew companion pay 10 hours, even when the trip is built for 3 days. Does this LOA fix that or was that never wrong to begin with?

BS. I already make decent money. 15% more is close to meaningless if it requires a significant increase in TAFB. I'd happily trade that for QOL. While dollars are great there's far more to life than my W2. I'd be surprised if a whole slew of reserve maggots didn't agree with me. |

Oh no, I got it. :) |
I'm probably in the minority here but I don't mind the current reserve rules. I only live an hour from my base though.
