New paint, who dis?

Excellent!
The following is not directed at pilotgolfer as it would be preaching to the choir....
The LH joke also serves a reminder that we have already merged our entire transatlantic operation with LH inside the joint venture (JV). All the revenues and expenses are shared on “metal neutral” basis so it’s really sub-UA and sub-LH. For all practical purposes UA has A380s and 747-8s just like it has E175s.
Everybody needs to keep this in mind as contract negotiations intensify.
Scope is not just an issue at the bottom.
DAL has much worse (for pilots) JV scope than us. It does not take much imagination to guess what the company might want with early negotiations.

My personal opinion:
NO GLOBE!
NO TULIP!
We need a truly new livery and branding concept for our airline that looks forward, not backward. There are roughly equal thirds pre-merger UAL, pre-merger CAL and post-merger hires. The latter are certainly not tied to any past livery/branding from either side. So it should be a new concept that represents all of our pilots.
Admittedly, it's highly unlikely (i.e. next to zero chance) that the name of our company is going to change so those holding onto the L-CAL past are just going to have to accept that "UNITED" will be the brand name going forward because it is recognized at this point. Wouldn't expect any corporate name change to "North Star" or "Global Airways" or what have you. But, it's not unrealistic to expect a completely new livery design that resembles nothing of the previous carriers. This is my personal hope as even before the merger the L-CAL livery was tired and in need of an update.
Just one pilot's personal opinion whose main concern is a stable company passengers want to fly and where I am paid what I am worth/negotiate, on-time and correctly.

That’s the important stuff. New logos, branding and uniforms won’t change the bottom line. Personally, paint planes whatever you want when they run through the shop, improve the uniform quality, but don’t waste money on stuff that doesn’t matter. Not to be negative, but rebranding is usually either related to a big change or when management doesn’t know what else to do.

Couldn’t agree more.
I’d pay for another buyout of crotchety employees before I paid for paint. We have a few that need to go. Hell I probably need to go. I just don’t know it yet 🤪
