I said UA doesn’t need United Express pilots. UA will take regional pilots from Wherever as needed. Why drain our own feed.

Well, your flying experience is not relevant, nor are your interviewing skills. However, if you are financially well off, and you've spent your career in the regionals/commuters then you received your money from some other source. If you inherited it then great, good for you. But, if you didn't make it puddle jumping the cesspools of poor work rules and stand up overnights I won't be tipping my cap to you.

You appear to be satisfied doing what you are doing. Great. good for you.

That's not what he said junior.

United, like all major US airlines have feed. They need planes to go to Travers City Michigan and pick up folks and bring them to Chicago so they can connect them to cool places like London. However, the economics of where the RJ/turbo prop pilots are needed and who pays them and who's seniority list they are on boils down to two things: what's great for the profession, and what's great for Kirby's bottom line.

Kirby's position is what is driving this debate. It's not really a debate amongst professional pilots. It's a debate between Kirby and the man in the mirror. He can talk to himself all day for all I care, he will just need a good therapist when it's over.

Believe it, I'm hearing of a large autonomous cargo type that will fly across oceans in the mid twenties out of the way of airliner routes. It will probably be a turboprop.

That will be easier to be done at cargo carriers than passenger airlines. It will probably happen sometime in the future for passenger airlines but it's still got a long way to go.

I haven't looked at the recent hull loss frequency of military drones but they used to have a horrendous track record. Until hull losses can be reduced to near zero, there is no economic benefit to change to pilotless aircraft.

Just curious how that works. Say you have a trip on your schedule that you can’t drop through the trade system. You actually cold call other pilots and tell them you will send them a personal check if they pick the trip up for you? Is that what you do?

Yeah, you can advertise and other pilots can pick up your trips. If the trip isn't productive, you will have to pay someone a small amount like 200-400 dollars to pick up a four day trip.

Come on, are you serious? Where are you going to recruit regional pilots from? Mesa, Republic, GoJets, TSA, SkyWest? They all feed United! You probably didn’t know that. Do you even know how many pilots are leaving XJT and SkyWest every month? A couple hundred at least. XJT can only find about five people a month to replace the outgoing pilots. All the majors are hiring XJT pilots, United hires about 40 each month from XJT. The LCCs are ramping up hiring this year to take away a large amount of regional pilots away from United feeds. I’m surprised that you believe regional pilots would continue to stay in a low end job to please United...hahaha! What will United do without a feed?
