As a newhire on a widebody, you probably won't get 500 hours a year. I'm not on one, so I can't say for sure, but odds are you might get a couple hundred hours a year.

I'm a NB new hire and I'll likely finish my 12 months of employment with 350ish hours

Ow wauw. I thought NB did all these crazy hours of 90 a month. 350 on nb and 500 on wb seem pretty decent.

He probably sat around for 9 months waiting to start IOE.

Not really, I waited about 1 month for my OE. Then I've been sitting reserve. Looking at my logbook I've flown ~240 hours in 6 months

That matches my experience. Since finishing IOE, as a 737 FO on reserve, I'm only averaging about 35 hours a month. I live locally and don't go out of my way to pick up flying.

Default 10/11 class drop?

Any news on equipment/locations for recent drops? Wasn’t there supposed to be one today (10/11)? Thanks for any insights…

I’m 10 months in as a NB guy in Newark and I’ll have 600 hours by the end of October.

Factors include:

Live in base, aggressive pick up as much as possible when on reserve and max out trips on a line. I also was lucky enough to only have a 2 week sit for OE.
