Never received a response back from MEC’s Communication Chair of Vice...

When I read your post it sounded as if you already knew what Jim's views were. I searched the web and couldn't find any info on what his views are as far as how they pertain to our profession. If you know what they are let us know?

I don't think ALPA would campaign for Jim without knowing what those views were. I do know what Dan's views are and he has actively reached out and looked for support. Jim hasn't.

Thanks in advance.

They got back to me tonight... good news is they are going to start giving both candidates some much needed vis by the pilot group.

Good. But what are his views as they relate to our profession? Throw us an assist here.

I guess it's 100% coincidence the Browns have one game in the last two years and the Pats have been in the last two Super Bowls.

Using your logic, we will take a pay cut this next contract (remember its under Trump). So when we ink the highest pay rates ever in the next contract, its all Trump’s credit, right?
Your point that economics is a huge factor is well taken, however, don't discount the make up of the NMB in the end result.

You can’t just pick and choose. Neither Obama nor Clinton cared one dam about airline pilots contracts.
I'll give you the fact a bunch of relatively rich pilots will never be the poster children for the labor movement, but we definitely have received better treatment under Democrats. I have spoken with Dan and know where he stands, because he took the time to call even though I'm not in his district. Yes, it was for money, but it was obvious he found it a distasteful, but necessary part of running for office. I've yet to hear from Jim and whether he breaks from his party's platform on labor issues.

All a moot point... Jim is apparnetly dropping out this week because of lack of campaign funds. First I've heard this but apparently PAC money won't support a candidate if they are running against an incumbent... even if the challenger is a pro union guy (LEC rep at one point) and an active member of the union... can't make this stuff up. By the way, Dan's still in the race and having a fund raiser in Leesburg coming up.

There is 0 correlation with who is in the White House and our contracts. None. Clinton was in the office during the 90s. Did you see the CAL contract back then! It was horrible! The current one we have under Trump is much better.

Uhh....AA FA strike and APA?? Huge impact on what happened, or didn't.

Not to mention our near brush with a strike on the last contract before the merger? Direction from the whitehouse to the NMB on whether we could be released for 30 cooling off? Major impact....

They pay well more than their fair share. 45% of Americans don't pay Any federal income tax.

to many articles on this subject...just cause you paid your 150K house off doesn't mean anything..if you live in a state that takes more from the Feds then it gives...your opinion is worthless.
Republicans pay the majority of taxes in this country. If you look at how people voted you will see that those that pay the most taxes voted republican. Those blues states with all that "tax revenue" comes from the high earning republicans. You really think people who work on wall street are voting democrat?

Then leave your high tax blue state. The rest of us shouldn't subsidize your overtaxed situation.

The contractual gains from 1993-1998 for CAL were huge. To piggyback on what Dave said, due to the nature of the RLA, the NMB is, behind the economy, arguably the second most important factor in our negotiating success.
