I guess I'm thankful I have a magical 4 year degree. Apparently I should have gotten it in HR so I would understand hiring.

I'll pretend I'm HR to help.

Person A has the preferred educational requirements.
Person B does not.

I'm going to choose person A.

Going to online college is easy and inexpensive for someone earning 10 year captain pay at a regional. With your stats you could knock it out in 10 months with average effort. If you want the job get a degree.

I went from zero college to a BS in 3.5 years while working as an RJ FO. 12 months after I graduated and 5 job fairs later I interviewed and was hired.

I had similar experience as you and finished the BS at Liberty in a year and got hired at a major shortly after. Wish I had done it sooner rather than procrastinate for the typical reasons.

Has any info come out about the friends and family job fair this fall? Son of a united employee. I’m hoping you won’t have to be selected for it and just attend since my quals are roughly 2800 TT 450 PIC part 121, 4 year degree and a CP letter and 5 internals. Yeah I’ll admit, I’m low time. I just would like to be able to shake some hands, be charming and hand my resume out and dream of getting the email.

Can you apply to be an LCA at your regional? Check Airman time is golden and will make you more competitive.

Would a 135 LCA also be golden?

Depends on the size of the flight department.... 4 pilots and you are an LCA not so much. I highly suggest 121 time. Just the competitive facts.

It seems like the majority selected for this job fair have been LCAs or have some sort of airline or military instruction background. Anyone get an invite without these qualifications? If so, what do your numbers look like?

Check airman letter is gold.

Also, whether you have a letter from the FAA vs just a company “nod”.
