Was it in SFO? You have to be a “high speed” E-2 pilot......

Elaborate on that one! Is Larry an E-2 fan boy or something?

I did an east coast meet and greet back in mid-June. Have not had further communication at this point; fingers and toes crossed.

I did one in late July. Business casual dress, 30 minute sit down with the sponsoring pilot and the CP. Overall, a very relaxed meeting. They asked "why United" then some other get-to-know-you questions to see if I was personable and relatable. The meet and greet puts you in a separate pool to be chosen from but doesn't guarantee an interview.

I've heard nothing since as well.

Also did one in late July. It was a pleasant experience all-around. The person who forwarded your info to the CP’s Office will go in with you. Mine was with the CP and one of the flight managers from the office. It was set up like an interview panel with them sitting across from us in a conference room. CP asked my buddy to describe me initially and asked why he thought I’d be a good fit at UA. This lead to the “why United” for me and some basic questions meant to flush out whether or not you’re someone they’d be ok spending 4 days with on the road. Super nice people and a very laid back environment. I also have heard nothing since the meet and greet.

* I brought resumes and my airline apps packet, but they had everything pulled up digitally on their phones. Business casual dress for me and my UA “sponsor.”

I had a meet and greet in October of 2018. Things may have changed since then, but he (chief pilot) then wrote a recommendation that went into my airlineapps after our meeting. I wound up with an interview invite in late February of 2019 and ended up in class in July of 2019. Also of note, I added an additional rec letter from a UA pilot a couple months after the meet and greet, so that may have been what tipped the scales.

I have to imagine the wheels grind somewhat slowly with as many apps hiring has to go through. Hopefully you all get your shot and we can welcome you to class soon!

Did any of you who’ve had recent meet and greets have a rec letter from the CP show up in your Airline Apps? I’m about a month post-meeting and haven’t seen anything yet. Fully expecting to wait a while, so this is entirely my obsessive curiosity at work. Best of luck to all!

*As a point of reference, a former squadron-mate of mine waited three months to get the Hogan invite following his meet and greet. This was three years back, so not entirely applicable.
