CP meet and greet
#31
I recently had a meet & greet with a UAL CP. The meeting went well I thought and he wrote me a LOR on Airline Apps. Aside from this, is there anything else they do that will help to flag your application in DEN? Is this what they mean when they say they have a "certain allotment" each month?
I interviewed 7 months later and was hired.

[QUOTE=BTpilot;2771814]I was told, if you were given the rec out of the 25/year (I think that's the # he said) that you would not get an airlineapps write up. I was given the congrats email from the CPO that I was chosen for the rec. No airlineapps writeup was done.
I interviewed 7 months later and was hired.
Interesting...he didn't mention this during the meeting. Mine was ORD for what it is worth. How long after the meet & greet did you receive the email from the CPO? Also was this recently?

Mine (EWR- now retired) told me he would at least write me an Airlineapps LOR. My meet and greet was the beginning of the month so he wanted to meet with other applicants before he decided which two got the “silver bullet” (Letter directly to hiring). He never wrote an AirlineApps rec, but almost a year later I got the email that he submitted a rec to the hiring dept. I got an invite about 9 months later (6-7 of those months they weren’t hiring, so I guess you can consider that 3 months after submission to invite?) The big letter is not a guaranteed invite though, just applies a certain number of points to your app, usually enough to move you to the short stack if you’re close.

Anything. People have written what its like or how it is, seems to depend on situation to situation. I think the thing that is not really clear is what or how much does it actually help along in the process/ to what extent does it help to join the team, assuming you don't make a complete fool of yourself of course.

The mysterious part is what happens (or yet, how it happens) after the M&G. In my case, I met with him toward the end of the month and a couple days later, he called my sponsor (the guy who walked me in) and told him he just got off the phone with HR and he was giving me the "silver bullet" or whatever you wanna call it. They apply the additional points to your app and a week later, my app was pulled and got the Hogan invite. I don't think anybody knows the weight of the M&G, but I imagine it means a lot.
