Default DHS suspends Global Entry for NY residents

Well it appears DHS has suspended applications and re application for Global Entry for all NY residents.

"Wednesday that DHS was immediately suspending enrollment in Global Entry and several other Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) for all New York state residents -- a dramatic move in response to the liberal state's recently enacted sanctuary "Green Light Law."

Enjoy!

You get what you vote for.

Everyone has had ample time including multiple extensions to get a REAL-ID.

REAL-ID is not the issue.

Oh thats a shame. How will all those bourgeoisie activists handle having to stand in line with the unwashed masses?

This is more about their policy of harboring illegals.

Are you talking about those bourgeoisie truck drivers trying to cross into the US from Canada? Or the bourgeoisie pilot trying to make a commute home?

I believe we will see additional ramifications from these so called sanctuary laws. Too bad the citizenry could not contain the liberal agenda.

At the end of the day the Supremacy Clause sorta steers these issues to a logical and foretold conclusion.

Some of you are able to politicize any subject. The drama should have been left in high school. Sad.

The issue as presented involves the TSA's need to verify travelers data from the states own data-bases. If the TSA employees who are tasked with verifying the data can't access it then they can't do their jobs. Then, the TSA-global entry-trusted travel program won't work.

The elected leaders in the states that have these sanctuary laws enacted these laws so that they could provide "sanctuary" to their illegal ailien population. That decision to simply give out state drivers licenses to unlawful and undocumented foreign nationals was a political decision. To state otherwise would be both dishonest and inaccurate.

The states enacting these laws fail to realize that the USA has a supremacy clause. Furthermore, their unilateral actions impose safety risks to neighboring states. These non-citizens will be driving their cars from state to state. They may move, and when they do move, they may want to turn in their old drivers license for a new one. Should the other state, say....Alabama be required to issue them a drivers license due to reciprocity?

Anyone that feels these sanctuary laws don't or won't have unintended consequences has their head in the sand. The political calculations that the State of NY has made should not have an effect on me and my family in my home state....But, I do feel that will be the case sooner than later. Thanks New York! Hope you guys clean up your state leadership and take your state back from the crazies.
