It doesn't really have anything to do with that. Trump just wants NY to stop the lawsuits against him. All the rest of his reasons are just bullshine.
In other words, its just ANOTHER abuse of power quid pro quo. But since the Senate acquitted him in the Ukraine deal, he's free to abuse the power of the Presidency as often as he likes.
Remember the Checks and Balances theory you learned about in 5th grade civices? The Senate just wiped that slate clean.

Don’t want to supply the info? Fine, you forfeit your participation. No one in the federal govt is restricting your right or access to travel, but you don’t get to use the country club benefits if you’re not going to pay dues.

That's true. The abuse of power comes from the fact that the President DEMANDED the state drop all the lawsuits against him. That, my friend, is a quid pro quo...the very definition of an abuse of power. The Senate has made sure that the President will NEVER be challenged on that subject again. Its open season for the way he's always done business. That's probably why he doesn't consider it wrong doing.

its in no way an abuse of power... It’s an agreement between the states and the federal govt to build a convince program for us citizens and trusted travelers using state dmv database info.

In the history of presidential impeachment trials, Senator Romney became the first senator to vote against a president of his own party.
The constitution wasn’t amended by the acquittal of president trump. The checks and balances still exist within the constitution as it did before trump was inaugurated.

back on thread....N.Y. Can vote in these politicians that want to have illegal aliens having drivers licenses to garner votes since most sane people are moving out of this high tax state for greener pastures.
If N.Y. Doesn’t want to play by the rules and share information like every other state does then it has to except the consequences of their actions.
New Yorkers have a choice in November but I doubt things will change there...

Or, he is a man of integrity that stood by his convictions -- in a party that is increasingly craven.

I agree some Repubs are spineless.

Psychoanalytical fail, project much? Keep your day job. Only one of those two regularly rages in public at those who have slighted him (hint: it is not the Mormon one). I bet Romney is beyond relieved he did not get the Sec State job. Considering how much hate he knew he’d be in for, he at least showed half a spine doing what he did. When it is finally over and DJT is off the scene, what is left of the GOP is going to wish they’d shown him the door when they had the chance. Remember when the GOP could win elections in CA? Not anymore.

Hate to Wake u up from your snowflake delusion, but DJT won’t be off the scene till Jan of 2025!
the dem party is imploding before our eyes. you have an outward socialist leading in the primaries , a potential civil war if he’s screwed again by the establishment Dems. They have no platform except catering to non citizens and putting guys in girls bathrooms. I can’t wait till November to see people like u cry again....
fyi I’m enjoying my 401k and the lowest unemployment in over 50 years.
