This ^^^

And the cost is pretty minimal to do all of that training because TK is already open. When the bumps are done, TK will turn into a ghost town for a while.
The breakeven point is wherever the company wants it to be, as they can play with the cost numbers any way they like.

I don’t believe there are any limits on furloughs after September 30 of this year. There were a few early press reports of this that appear inaccurate from what I have since read. There is a separate clause for the government loans that limit staffing reductions to 10% through sept 30 of this year, but the grant clause of no reductions would make that irrelevant. If anyone has any better info on this please share.

What are the rules on flush bids?

can they just open one displacement and tell everyone #1 down to put in a bid. Give a set number they want for each base seat and fleet and whoever is still standing when the music stops gets furloughed?

this would be more damaging to the pilot group but is it allowed?

3000 will be gone by oct 1 st and they will start recalling 50 per month next February for the foreseen future
is my guess
whatever the cost of training is they don’t care
they did not care after 9/11 and 2008
history will repeat it self unfortunately

BTW I don’t support pay cuts regardless if I am on the property or not
reduce monthly hours of guarantee YES
Hourly pay rates cut NO

2500 is about the number to avoid the RJ reconfiguring....plus about another 500 off the top in the next year. But you think a 3k chop off the bottom will happen?

if we’re all just going to throw predictions out, I’d say a number equal to the amount of NB FO Srls being offered is as good as gone come 1 Oct considering that’s virtually a cost free transaction. After that, sure it may go deeper, but to carve into that 76 seater rule I have to believe is a black line they’d like to not cross.

The problem is that there is massive overstaffing at WB FO for the foreseeable future. Most of those in those seats will need to be retrained, which would not allow them to drop 3000 in Oct. Those WB FOs that decide to go into NB CA will probably have a short stay before being displaced again.
NB CA to NB FO is a short course so that won't take much.

Other than 3000 in Oct and recalls starting next Feb {Feb 2022 maybe), I don't much wrong there. Big thumbs up from me to cut hours, not pay rates.

NB CA to NB fo is a short course if you stay on the same a/c. How many will though? I know I won’t. I’ll take my stroll through 756 FO first then 737 FO, Airbus FO last (currently Airbus CA).

Also, how difficult is it going to be to get everyone OE and consolidated under the current limits? Until recently guys were waiting weeks for sim and OE due to a lack of resources. With the drawdown in schedules getting everyone consolidated in 120 days may pose a challenge. Not saying it’s a stopper but definitely a hurdle.

They make waivers for that. LIke the O2 mask requirement.

Is furlough pay due if it’s caused by Covid? Haven’t seen it discussed but 7-G-1-b indicates there will be no furlough pay.
