It’s been mentioned that cargo flying will start to draw down after the summer. The rates aren’t as good now as they were in April and will continue to get less attractive.

I personally think this is what’s driving uncertainty for the company’s staffing projections.

2001 not only saw the terrorist attacks, but a fairly large bursting of the tech bubble, which put us in a recession. 2008 saw one of the biggest drops of the stock market in a century. I am not bullish per se, but while not likely, I don’t think a quick recovery is totally out of the question.
I'm wondering about the 100% metrics. I'm knee deep in my family's small businesses while on ESRL for the next few months. We have a four way split between local logistics, construction, manufacturing and hotels. This board has really good insight into travel and I can get a feel for the hotel segment based on some observations you guys make. Right now we can't find a travel indication for our hotels that shows anything but a 40% recovery in our locations (Northwestern New England and Upstate New York) that shows any hope for the next year. Just wondering since the majority of our guests come in by air for fall and winter foliage and skiing. Our logistics segment is holding steady, manufacturing is doing well with medical and construction is starting a recovery but travel is not a positive. Any positive you could share would assist and be appreciated. Thanks.

to add to the cargo discussion.....as our PAX flights come back, our INTL loads are light. This means we can max out cargo AND carry passengers. This will put a hurt on the cargo only flights. good news is we are bringing our schedule back and the INTL flights need more pilots to staff.

You hungover or still drunk? We’ve always carried cargo.. yes, we are carrying more of it because if Covid but no where close to what cargo flights are carrying. AA is not putting any pressure on cargo outfits..

you ever fly long haul? A lot of cargo sits around for days because we are weight restricted or the belly is full of bags. If the passenger load is light then we can get all the bags into one can. This opens up additional positions to load cargo.

how about you think outside the box a little instead calling people drunk. And what does AA have anything to do with this?

Sorry this is off topic. Does anyone know if you lose your landing currency after the monthly bidding closes but before the awards are published, will you get awarded a line for Aug?

Currency and line awards are two different things, so yes, you'll still get awarded whatever you can hold.

I don’t know. Oct - Dec is huge for holiday demand. Maybe after Dec.
