Getting screwed on pass priority is absolutely comical compared to getting screwed on the master seniority list. Just saying.

So it looks like you were hired by CAL, furloughed, still on furloughed when the merger closed in October 2010 and eventually merged in with United pilots who had been hired 7 1/2 years before you in April of 2000, and you are complaining about pass travel? You’re kidding, right? Looks like UALPA got you your pay restored to your hire date. Maybe you need to be grateful for that. I’m sure those April 2000 hires would like to have their seniority longevity restored as well.

Outsider looking in; this was a pretty good thread derail. Can I try and derail it further by stating the fact that a Miata is NOT a sports car?

Yea who cares until you get bumped by someone junior to you when trying to commute, travel or otherwise utilize your earned benefits (yes there are guys junior to me who have higher pass classification than me). But hey its not important to you so who cares? The exact mentality that others are lamenting.

But I'm sure you'll expense a pricey dinner because your roll was missing....

You realize DOH never has meant anything in ALPA merger policy so nobody got screwed in relation to when they got hired. That ms the policy, talk to ALPA if you are upset.

Does it upset pilots when other pilots uphold the terms of the UPA?

Just remember that for the next merger, when a 5 year JB, Alaska, Spirit , Allegiant Captain gets merged with a now 20 year United Captain. We were in a great position a year ago to acquire one of these airlines and do very well in a seniority integration because of longevity and the number of wide and mid-body Captains up against the narrowbody airlines out there. Now it would be a bloodbath. Lets hope United doesn’t buy anybody.
