When you go to your Delta interview, please don’t say mute point. You’re welcome.

Some more numbers.

April 2020 approximately 380 Aviate participants
June 2021 approximately 600 Aviate participants

I think last year April numbers are more accurate as to how many interviewed from regionals. The June 2021 numbers seem too high. I doubt they interviewed 220 additional candidates from when they started Aviate interviews earlier this year till now.

If the number lies somewhere between those two figures, with hiring spooling up red hot again, won’t the existing pool be drained quite quickly? Will they have to lower the requirements to get folks through with all the lost COVID time?

Can't really lower the standards. There's no reason for that. Pilots getting time and experience every week, and every month. So many regional pilots who are looking to get out of the regional rat race.

If by “Standards” you mean the requirements to transition to United in the Aviate program, here they are:
-Meet the hours and years required flying for a United Express carrier and continue flying for that carrier until receiving a class date.
-Have a college degree (strongly preferred - basically required).
-Meet United’s requirement for acceptability in reference to Training Records, Attendance Records, and Discipline Records

Have a successful interview just like every other candidate that interviews at United. It is the SAME interview, the same minimum qualifications, the same everything.

So, in terms of someone who is already at a regional carrier, not the ab initio version of Aviate, what is the point?
