Yeah, that still seems like a shorter path than what an OTS candidate would do. I’d probably sign up for that. Seems a lot easier & quicker. I have no idea what the interview pass rate is, but it sure seemed like most people who made it that far were getting CJOs.

For the record, many of the Aviate people at the top of the list waiting for a class date have been flying for over 25+ years as well. They have more than paid their dues. I think people who aren’t in Aviate think the majority in the program are 24 year olds. They aren’t. Some of these guys are close enough to mandatory retirement that the extra time of waiting due to Covid and whatever else is extending the wait, is putting them in the position where it may not even make sense to change airlines now. I just want to clear that up.
Regardless, to all pilots who have served, Thank you for your service! 2nd decile, 21 years at XJT, LCA, interviewed December 2019, crickets so far. I have to admit that seeing guys who just interviewed getting class dates stings a bit especially since XJT was part of the COVID sacrifice. |

I’m also hearing that all of those in any decile will likely be called up by the end of the year (so long as they meet the Aviate requirements …time at company, number of hours, etc.). Best of luck! |

Incidentally, I still haven’t heard of ANY Aviate guys (outside of the CPP) getting a class date. Has anyone else? These pilots are still waiting patiently. Let’s hope they are in class soon. They have waited quite a while for their call. |

These qualifications are pretty typical for a large portion of the current Aviate list that interviewed back in 2019. These pilots were part of the lost decade. As new guys interview and are added to the bottom of the current Aviate list, the experience level will fall dramatically. The current list is just the backlog of the highly experienced pilots that were stuck for a decade plus.

They have waited quite a while for their call. I'll let you know when I hear something. I've been hoping for the phone to ring since the announcement in April and I've been reluctant to commit myself to anything serious knowing that this could happen at any time. I don't want to accept a position with someone who is going to invest an enormous amount of money in training, only for me to leave in a few months. Also unsure how the review board will look upon my lack of currency for October through March. Just hoping to hear something soon so I can make some plans. |

I'm guessing that I'm pretty high in the second decile - I haven't heard of too many XJT folks that were senior to me that went through the process successfully. I also don't know how applicants who interviewed at the beginning but are from different companies are blended into the FIFO list.

Another post awhile back said that Aviate is just a recruiting tool and something used to keep you in line , reduce sick calls etc while you wait for a call. Until these guys start moving off the list , I’m inclined to somewhat believe it . |

i know a lot of aviate participants who are getting very discouraged and seeking out other opportunities. Guys interviewing in May and starting class in June , getting seniority over people who have been working their asses off waiting patiently. The ots hiring will continue, further pushing every aviate participant down the list .

Not sure if that has changed in the last couple years, but in reality the average person has been patiently waiting and working hard for years. It’s the people in their 20s or 50s who are the outliers. |

Then they should bypass AVIATE and do the traditional OTS process. I don’t see many OTS interviews going to sub 2000 hour aviators.
These are guys with 6,7,8 or 10 k hrs or more . |
