I have considered that - Haven't actually tried it.

Delta.... Crickets

UPS... Crickets
Spirit.... Crickets (while hiring tons of guys around 4K total)
Sun Country.... Crickets (while hiring tons of guys around 4K total)
Breeze.... Crickets (Only looking at people with 170/190 type)

Either my application is a train wreck (which I doubt since it's been reviewed) or there actually is a stigma against high time people.

Not necessarily complaining, just trying to give you an idea of the struggle that some of us are facing.

How long since your last type rating?

I love how guys that don’t even work here are complaining already. Ual gets to decide who and when they bring people on board.

Captain Obvious to the rescue!

Yes sir.....

People like to think that they got selected due to the quality of their application compared to others. Most underestimate the amount pure luck that is involved in being selected for an interview at any company since the quality of the applicant is the same at United, Delta...... A friend of mine was 21 year O5 in the Air Force, instructor pilot, Air Force Academy grad, Masters in aeronautical engineering, community volunteer work, and tons of internal recommendations. He ended up at Delta, but never heard a thing out of the other airlines that you listed. He got lucky, but United was his first choice due to the Denver base and he regularly updated his application for a couple years before giving up and settling in.

Would make an interesting case. First person to lie about their hours.. by reducing them by 50%

I was very close to your times when I got hired (minus the LCA). Update weekly, even if it’s just 3.7 hours. And don’t give up!

Back in GA flight instructing.

Reluctant to get into anything much more since I am pretty close to the top of the Aviate list. I don't want to tell someone that I'll be available for a period of time, have them pay to train me in their equipment, and then get called from the Aviate pool the following month leaving them with a large failed investment in me.

And that is exactly why I am so appreciative of the opportunity that Aviate has given me. I know that these interviews are extremely hard to come by. It baffles me when I see someone with multiple job offers at the legacy level.

I appreciate the support, but I'm in the Aviate pool, so I'll get called when everyone ahead of me has been called (which can't be many).

We have to update our application at least once a month as a requirement of the program - more than that won't matter.
