Future of Aviate
#331
There have been NO Mesa pilots who have gotten class dates in August and looks like even for September(maybe). I am one of the unfortunate few who are waiting in that next group. Was expecting august, and nothing but crickets. September seems to be heading the same direction. No communication from Aviate as to why and no one to reach out to. Don't understand what the hold up is. Been a very long, frustrating and disappointing process. Program had so much promise and promised so much. Really really sad. Hoping some people from Alpa @ United may read this and maybe query or help. If anyone has any info, we would all greatly appreciate it.

Those accepted into Aviate are not married to it. They are still free to shop the market and go to where they feel their career will be most promising and/or bountiful. Sure, Aviate leadership wants those accepted into the program to stick with it, but the reality is that the market will bear what the market will bear. The "feeders" or regionals will struggle to keep their flights adequately staffed for the foreseeable future.

Mesa Pilots.
Have any of you received a class date since the first group of guys that went to class in July ?
It seems the Mesa line has stopped moving.
Mesa pilots (or any aviate pilots), please let us know if you get a class date. It seems like the line is at a standstill.

But that’s not how it’s advertised. Pilots should be transitioning in order of the Fifo list which I don’t think anyone has but I can’t believe there’s that much space between pilots in each airline.

It’s all based on coming seniority for the first 2 groups. (A ZW pilot with a zw hire date of 1990 will go before a mesa hire from 2018)

Whatever the intention was, the reality is the regionals are having staffing problems, and the obvious answer is to hold the Aviate pilots at their respective regional and hire off the street instead. That is what appears to be happening since the transition has slowed and in Mesa’s case, has come to a stop.

he’s right the first few months of aviate were broken into waves. Everyone in the first wave went in seniority order behind CPP folks. It is accurate we’re still in the first wave of applicants at Mesa. Not sure at what point that changes over.

Within each wave, all successful applicants in the selection process will have the same entry date for the FIFO list and will be ordered based on carrier seniority (within your carrier) and evenly distributed with the other UAX carriers. Within each wave, it does not matter when you submit your application.
-
- Wave one will accept applications from Oct. 3, 2019 to 2359 CT on Oct. 21, 2019.
- Wave two will accept applications from Oct. 22, 2019 to 2359 CT Dec. 20, 2019.
- Wave one will accept applications from Oct. 3, 2019 to 2359 CT on Oct. 21, 2019.
- If you apply after the Dec. 20, 2019 deadline, you will be placed on the FIFO in accordance with the standard FIFO process (i.e. based on your Board of Review date)
