The people in the program are qualified too, of course others that were denied are better than me. I also overreacted. It was the best day of my life when I found out I was a part of this and on track to join a Legacy airline. Now I have to look for a job outside of the career I love while simultaneously reading about how all the individuals in the program (me) are now worthless comparatively to others possibly for 5+ years. So sorry about the mean response but I’m still a guy chasing the dream too.

How long have you been at UEX?

Taxi To,

If this career is really what you want, keep chasing that dream.

Getting into the program was a huge accomplishment, and the unexpected COVID-19 impact was a disappointing set back. The airline career can be a bumpy one at times, but also very rewarding as well.

The demand for quality pilots will most likely resume in full force as the industry simultaneously recovers and deals with a large number of retirements at the same time. The movement following the recovery very well could be one of the most impressive on record for several airlines.

Aviate is a beneficial program, and I am sure the company wants to keep it intact if they can. Surviving the downturn is the main focus for the company right now, but they will try to honor commitments when they can.

Make the best of the current situation, and get ready to ride the next wave; it should be a big one.

Impressive work for someone who was not even hired here...

Any other insights to share with United Pilots or just more filler?

Looking to apply for the Aviate program? Looking at your signature, it looks like it'd be a nice pay raise.

From 2016, pre new contract. 2013 hire, and at 25% relative seniority not likely to get downgraded or furloughed. Just checked my W2 to make sure, yeah, I am okay UAL didn't call.

So, just read some of your other posts and you seem to be a nice , considerate person. Maybe you were trying to be funny too?

THIS. Spot-on, this thread full of Butt-Hurt cry-babies who didn't get into Aviate. I look forward to resurrecting this thread next year after the Vaccine is out and the airlines are hiring gang-busters again.
