Their focus is lowering immediate cash burn more than long term cost. Since the RQ2 footprint is only 9 days of class, they can furlough fairly deep and bring people back quickly and without that much cost.

I don’t understand. Why is our outlook so bleak compared to everyone else? Is it simply posturing?

The total number of active pilots on this displacement is pretty close to the number on the previous one.

IMHO, it looks more like fine tuning the results of the previous displacement than cutting that much deeper.

As others have suggested, including the director of manpower planning, they are going for maximum flexibility. It's easier to cancel larger than necessary reductions than to try to cut deeper on short notice.

The hits just keep on coming...
And Inlser just came out saying the company had to get talked down from making this 50% bigger. Total gut punch.

The majority of the junior pilots are on the 737 since it is the biggest NB fleet. The majority of recalls will be to fill 737 seats, especially once the max is flying again.

This is exactly what they’re doing. They will be in a position to chop about 30% this fall. If things improve, they lower the number. If they don’t they issue another displacement and furlough more.

And not only that, it's meaningless because the merger integration was not done by DOH.
