This was based on the mythical 2013 merger date. They also wanted all the post-merger hires as CAL because that’s the side they were flying on. A total cluster****.

Geez. I knew the proposal was a moonshot but didn’t remember the specifics. Most of the CAL pilots I know were a tad embarrassed by the proposal and the arguments being made by the arrogant merger committee chair (thought he knew it all having been a neutral on the US Air/ Am West SLI). In the end it is obvious who had the more realistic proposal as I ended up being almost exactly where UAL merger committee thought I should. Rear view mirror stuff at this point for me but understandable that with things moving backwards the old SLI hard feelings will surface here and there.

So did I. Our merger committee like much of CAL ALPA was freaking joke.

BOTH merger committees were trying to get the best result possible for their side. BOTH proposals were biased to favor their side. Neither side were saints.

The award is done...tired of hearing complaining about proposals and awards. Move forward or go sulk privately at home so the rest of us can have peace.

You are saying they lost 15% seniority from where they were on the MAD? Sorry not buying it.

true. It’s just that every now and then someone posts some complete BS, which needs to be corrected for historical accuracy. That’s been done here. Time to turn the page.

I taught a 16 year old kid to fly a long while ago, and next thing you know he's my base chief pilot at my airline...(really)...

Saw a ccs bulletin on LDRQ training. Bulletin made no sense.

how much does it pay?

did ALPA training committee approve?

who needs it?
And why?

Looks like a workaround to free up sim space and IP requirements for the massive influx of training?

Cheap and easy way to downgrade CAP to FO on the same fleet.

Not really. Previously, the downgrade required basically nothing. In fact qualified captains used to be able to be assigned FO trips on reserve not all that long ago on the 737 and A320. This is a step in the right direction.
