Since you are military you might appreciate this...I just got back from a temp job overseas working Current Ops for a 3-star. He was my room mate in flight school. I was the genius who tried to talk him out of staying in back in 1999. I had it on good authority I was going to be a Shuttle Captain in 2-years! In case you are wondering I'm not a 3-star or was a Shuttle Captain.
