It actually includes about three Legacy guys. But I guess 3900 is a more round number than 3897.

yeah the top of our list 78’/79’ hires were out for 6ish years. But the scabs have always been gainfully employed.....

But, most have never been furloughed, correct?

I am so sorry for you guys regarding this huge number. I was a 2003 furloughee (did not return) so I had a little more than a year to prepare myself for the eventual job loss. I wish you all well.

most of those hired in the late 80’s early 90’s have a uniform in their closet from a company that went out of business.....different kind of furlough.

Quite a few of the guys have mone than one ... two myself before United. Fortunately my tough times were predictable as both of the airlines were hurting when I hired on.

I had hoped that loads would be doing better by now.

Good point. Most of the people I know who were hired in that timeframe did not come from a failed airline, but a couple dozen doesn't make for a good sampling.

Best of luck to all of you.

they want to leave so let them go. Saving $200000 a year is more than the junior pilots make.
At the same time I’d like to also reiterate how a 50 hour surplus line option might help reduce payroll. I know we’ve debated this option before but if the empty lines, half month COLA and furlough plus stuff doesn’t do the trick for payroll reduction, I would really hope before we see contract concession asks we’d see an expansion of who can get an EO as well as allow anyone to take a 6-12 month 50 hour line. Call me crazy but I’d imagine they could easily get 1500-2000 early outs and another 2000-2500 50 hour surplus takers.

I'd have to see the actual numbers but most I know have not.
