Agreed. The problem is an ill informed and scared pilot group....not UAL ALPA or the company.

There are those that speculate "people want to get back into power."
Those would be somewhere between a moron and an idiot.
The real issue is fairness.
If those on FTFPL wanted to cut their pay they could have done it a month ago.
Anyone who says otherwise is trying to deflect the issues and confuse you.

Got to ask ... am I closer to moron or idiot? Yes GK, JB and a few of the loose cannon 570’s do want into power at any cost.
Life ain’t fair but at least we are still here to enjoy the unfairness.
I just hate to see anyones life fall apart over chicken$hit.
Hope your day/life improve.

You're the one who's confused. You're going to let your butthurt cloud your judgment enough to align yourself with JB, GK, and crew. The 'special' group from LUAL has teamed up with the 'special' group from LCAL in order to f all of us over. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see their game....
As others have stated, if you are not happy with ALPA or the current leadership, participate in the process. Floor resolutions, volunteer to do ALPA work, run for office, change the system. We are ALPA!
If you choose not to participate, the problem is you. I feel you really don't have any basis to complain--well....maybe....after all, we are pilots.

My understanding of this TA is MPG has been reduced but the value of work done above MPG is paid at book rates.
So if you work less than guarantee you get paid guarantee, if you work more than guarantee you get paid more. I don’t think there’s much argument there.
If we apply this idea to MEC officers, are they working more or less? I’m not aware of those on FPL punching the clock but I assume in today’s environment those on full time FPL are working at least 40 hour weeks. That’s 160 hours per month, yet we’re only paying them 91.
By my math, we’re paying them 55% hourly rate based on 40 hour work weeks. This is for actual work, line pilots would call that “above the guarantee” but of course there’s no guarantee for FPL, full time is a flat 91 hours. I’d say we’re getting a deal.
For the weak dick cowardly anonymous change.org style of doing business. I guess I’d be embarrassed to put my name on it and bring it to the floor in a council meeting too. That is of course if these aholes can actually get in to a union hall.

So, is this about reducing the MPG for the FTFPL people? If so are they to be paid for work above their reduced guarantee, or do we cap their work so they stop answering phones after a prescribed time of the day, at which point phones are turned off?
