I completely disagree. The petty infighting and multiple attempts to recall WM hamstrung her and her team. Instead we got wonderful JH who was only concerned with getting to National. Thank God that POS failed at his dream job.
To those who weren't on the UAL side during our bankruptcy, this isn't really about the Job Todd is doing. It's tough no matter who would be in office.
What this is about is the people who want back in power. WM, JB, and GK were absolute train wrecks when they were in charge. We really don't want that again. Yes, that WM, the one who got all friendly with Glenn in bankruptcy.
If we are headed there again, which is very possible, we do not want them anywhere near any kind of leadership.

My guess is by the vocal support online and at LEC meetings that Insler and the gang never fully intend to lower their compensation. They’ll just ride it out.

The MEC is on a salary. Bad leadership not to take a cut when those you represent are getting their collective head shaved.

it would be one thing if things were slow and they were justifying their time to keep their full salary. But they are working more hours than ever. I personally don’t think it’s a good precedent to set.
regardless, why don’t we save the real argument till November 1 when all this goes in effect. There’s not much we can measure, other than casting doubt on behalf of someone else’s political agenda

If that’s the case, what’s your feeling about those on FFPL getting paid 91 hours and working 40 hour weeks, or 160 hours per month?
The bottom third in NB FO seats had MPG reduced by 50% and the LPA projections for November are about 35-40 hours. This is because there’s not enough flying to go around while keeping everyone on the property, right?
One could argue that leadership was about keeping every pilot on the property. However, for an apples to apples comparison, how much less work do you expect from the MEC officers if they we to take a pay cut? Come in to the office one day a week and call it good? Are you going to work for free? Somehow you want representation to do just that?
Yeah leadership, gmafb

It's pretty bad optics regardless.
Everything the MEC does to include it's choice of toilet paper has political ramifications.
They aren't stupid. They know everything they do has a political consideration or overtone. That is why everything they do should be carefully measured as everyone is watching.
No one in their right mind wants any of those jobs, so I don't see how a member pilot pointing out an incongruity is grinding a political axe.
I think it's 94.5 hours. I don't think 91 is accurate.
The contract LOA has and will have unintended consequences. One of those consequences will be a severe erosion in unity. You can't argue with that. It simply is what it is.
I can see it now. The rent fund relief LOA will be coming soon for the junior third, whereby ALPA will be mandating the senior third cover two thirds of their rent until load factors go above 70%.
Then we will have the baby sitting relief LOA, the ice-cream social relief LOA, ....the list is endless.

The angry group can’t have it both ways. The MPG reductions represent less work, do we really want our MEC doing less right now?
Ok, you guys show up to the LECaram the resolution through the councils and I’ll show up and cast my vote.
