I can't wait for them to announce the first all lesbian crew. What about the first all female, all black, all lesbian crew. That should check some boxes. The next milestone will be one Indian, One black, and one latino, all female, all lesbian crew. I am sure UAL will put out the appropriate press relase.

Nah next will be an all tranny crew with another drag show at the gate. It’s what the customers care about after all.

I text my United friends and ask them if this is one of theirs.

No no... you're right, where are my manners, continue United pilots, go on and continue telling black people how they are.

What would really be ultimate unicorn of all crews would be the all white, staight, male crew. I mean, what are the odds of getting 4 straight males as flight attendants? I don't think that has ever happened.

Surely you're joking about the generalization that United pilots tell black people how they are
since the people posting here could be 15 year olds in their Mom's basements. You are joking right?

Perhaps there will be a new PBS option, you’ll be able to bid to avoid straight white males as the only avoid category!

I dunno I just got told since I'm an outsider to go away. Makes me think all the other people that weren't told to go away are in the system.

Right, that's my point - that even California has no desire to bring Affirmative Action back. One of the bluest of blue states, rejects Affirmative Action, again, just last year.

UA advocated for CA residents to vote YES, and CA residents voted NO.

So, why would a management team think this would be well received and perceived as a good thing/idea?

Aren't you unintentionally arguing in favor of the Aviate initiative? United is not creating a hiring quota through this program as you are implying. They are committing to providing training opportunities to a certain number of people who will then have the opportunity to interview for a job with United. There are no guaranteed jobs. Basically, they are investing at the zero to CFI level to ensure more diversity among the field of competent and qualified applicants they have to choose from. If you're really all for "pour[ing] all your efforts into expanding equality of opportunity" like you claim, it seems like you'd be all for this.
