Odd. I know AA pilots who got over 100 hours of dropped trips to get a vaccine. Plus a vacation day. Pattern bargaining and somehow this is an amazing LOA? Confused about this celebration on here from an outsider perspective. So asking why 13 hours seems like a huge win especially with the trip punishment language you all just set as a standard if countries mandate a vaccine. Seems awful from the outside so I’m asking as this could set a bad standard for pattern bargaining.
Countries ARE mandating the vaccine so you weren't going to operate that trip anyway and if you are adamant that all 3 available vaccines that have been administered 1.5 Billion times is some grand conspiracy... there has to be some accountability for a person's views. If you don't like the mrna jab there is the j&j which is a more traditional vaccine. You can believe and do whatever you want with your body but like everything it has consequences. We won't magically appease the vocal minorites on either end of this.

That sounds like the dumbest kind of #winning I can imagine. This is an across the board agreement that all pilots can take advantage of in a way that doesn’t absolutely destroy schedules. Many of us already received their shots and we’re covered so this is needed to nudge most of the rest over the line and soon.
And it’s tied to a profession that frankly requires it for many destinations we fly to. This is a polite and reasonable way to get it done. Nice job by our union and I’m glad this was agreed to.

I mean all their pilots got 10:30 and a vacation day at the least? So again curious how this is so much more amazing from their deal. Keeping in mind they aren’t punished for not having it like the ual langauage has. Again asking.

literally no-one is dying due to the vaccines. Most of us personally know someone who died due to Covid. And it’s currently rolling through some countries like William Techmseh Sherman through Georgia a few score back. But yeah funny so I’m sure it’ll get passed around the anti-vax crowd.

What's the punishment? Being dropped from a trip to a location that requires the shot?
