Nope……This is not a battle field this is a job. Kirby is a CEO not a battle field commander. You need to come back to reality.

Is Kirby your medical power of attorney? Your medical decisions are those of you and your family exclusively. If you’re entrusting a CEO to make your medical decisions for you… You’ve got some major issues.

[QUOTE]Every time I go to work my family understands that my life is completely in Kirby's hands.[\QUOTE]
WHAT?????? Are you on mind altering medication and or should you be? Your life is in your hands not the hands of some corporate CEO whom you have an apparent grandiose fantasy that he’s some kind of a god!

While Kirby talks a good game he doesn’t put his money where his mouth is. Get a hold of the COVID peeps and let them know that you’ve got a case of the sniffles. Even with a negative COVID test you’ll be grounded for 10 days. See if the old Kribster is willing to reimburse the sick leave you were forced to use. Buzz kill… He won’t. Hey how about reporting that you were in close contact with a COVID positive person. That’s a 14 day grounding and guess what Virgina, UAL won’t cover the sick time you’re forced to use.

Best interest my ASH!

And that’s exactly why people don’t report exposure or symptoms without a positive test. I can’t say that I blame them. It would be a great way to really burn your sick bank down to zero if you’re close to retirement.

The policy as it stands completely destroys its effectiveness and purpose. If Kirby really wanted to prevent COVID-19 by grounding any pilot with symptoms he’d be covering used sick list time, sick list that you will be FORCED to use whether you are still sick or not. As the policy stands being a boy scout and reporting yourself for cold or flu like symptoms is punitive.

I agree completely, but I’m betting that this Boy Scout is off for Christmas this year. There will probably be a bunch of sniffles and flu like symptoms around then. Cough.

Smart....F it up for everybody. Especially your fellow pilots and our passengers. I can see the single pilot and no pilot issue being put on the fast track.

Save the industry and the profession if you want. I’m burning my sick time and not leaving this place with one minute in my bank. It’s part of our negotiated compensation package, and I intend to use it.

I used every minute of mine as well. However I didn’t use it as retribution or to make a political statement. Best Regards.

It’s not a political statement or retribution, just a way to burn time and improve my schedule. If they require 10-14 days down, just bid some junk trips and use the system to your advantage. We get 60 hours per year and can’t take it with us when we leave.

Anyone still wondering why the company isn’t covering sick time for COVID-type symptoms? 🤔
