Maybe, although I imagine hotels & seats are the far cheaper option. But we’ll probably get neither plus a killed retirement plan thanks to Congress.

Let’s say we entertain the idea of paying more to different hubs. Do you then have to answer the question, do you pay pilots more who have a Cali address… or pilots who are based in SFO and commute?

Then what about EWR?

And hey DEN is pretty expensive…

Last I checked, ORD isn’t cheap either.

And what about…

I live 20 minutes from one of our junior hubs and even though I’m junior, I have more disposable income than some equal seniority people who commute from BFE for the same amount of days worked because I can pick up premium flying short notice and can pick up extra flying days equal to the days they spend commuting. That is actually better for the company (fewer pilots needed), and better for the value of our standby benefits (it encourages fewer commuters).

If the company is having a tough time getting employees in our more desirable/higher cost of living areas, then they should do what every other company in the world does besides the airlines and pay them more to live in a higher cost area. We are already doing this for Guam based pilots. SFO, EWR, and maybe LAX should be next.
Living in base will 'be a choice'.

A cost of living stipend would actually decrease the ca/fo pay ratio, exacerbating the problem. The obvious solution is to quit paying fo's too much, especially bunkies.

APC has many slow motion train wrecks posted on a daily basis. But this ^^^^ this is a multi ship, formation, smoking hole that hit the grand stands! A post of true mass chaos and mayhem! I’d like to personally thank fadec for posting this and giving us a glimpse into his personal Internal Operating System. Thank you for your service to your fellow pilots, you are a person of “unique” character!

No, you didn’t miss it. Fadec is either a management stooge or troll. He had another stupid post pulled a couple weeks ago for trolling. Ignore and move along.
