Well... while we're down the rabbit hole. Might as well speculate what the flow would look like. Just shift over the FIFO list to a straight single file line of names? Do they have to hit certain flight time / employment time at a UAX regional before going? Or whenever your # is called, off you go? What happens with the Aviate school?

With the Aviate UAX regionals getting some pay bumps and (possibly) flow, time will tell if that's enough to, A. keep those regionals alive and, B. See whether or not it stops people from jumping ship to greener pastures like ULCCs, cargo etc. If I were a betting person I would say the announcement is not a flow. Though, the Aviate program needs it badly. Finally, a flow wouldn't be all that different than what exists today IMO.

absolutely. That’s why when we are forced to do this “mentoring” module at the next trip to Tk, these are the things that should be talked about, not stupid challenge coins, business cards, or other PR nonsense.

If you currently meet the requirements nothing will change, if you are in aviate and do not meet requirements, you most likely get in line behind everyone at your carrier senior to you.

The big difference is that Aviate was a small pool of people so a smaller line. Making it a flow for everyone at UAX makes the line a lot longer.

HOT off the press. If you are employed at any of the Aviate regionals it is not required to interview for acceptance. All you need to do is opt in and complete your hour and time requirements to transition to mainline.

The news in the email today seems to indicate the road I'm taking through our Academy maybe just got a little longer, huh?

You still need a degree. Where as AA and Delta have completely dropped it and absolutely hiring without it. United is starting to realize they’re regional feeds are bleeding badly

You do not need a degree.

• In order to be eligible for transition to United, Aviate participants must have a bachelor’s degree, or graduate from United Aviate Academy, or obtain 1,000 flight hours as a Captain at an Aviate-participating UAX carrier

It does exclude some people though:

Candidates who have previously attempted to join Aviate through the UAX Entry
Point, a prior CPP, or United through United’s traditional pilot hiring process but were unsuccessful in their first attempt are not eligible to apply, or opt in to Aviate but remain eligible to apply to United through United’s traditional pilot hiring process after waiting 12 months since the first failed attempt.

Attempt means completing an interview, or scheduling an interview but failing to appear for such interview, for Aviate, any prior CPP, or United through United’s traditional pilot hiring process. Completing the Leadership Inventory alone will not be considered an attempt.

Really? I see the word or between carrier and graduate. I believe all those commas and some logic would indicate that you only need to satisfy one of those criteria? What am i missing?
