New guy here. Don't know the lingo or most of the abbreviations being used in this thread, but I have a question about initial assignments... basically, how does it work? Is there a list somewhere we can see which bases are more junior/senior?

The Friday before your class they will tell you what Base/Fleet will be available. Your first day of class they will give the exact number of Base/Fleet that will be available. You bid that afternoon.
SFO/EWR are the historical junior bases.

1) it's MUCH easier to move bases than airplanes
2) you can move to a higher paying airframe easily. it takes a couple years to make a lateral or downward move
3) 737 will give you the most flexiblility to start

The class drop thread has a lot of information. There is substantial variablity class to class. Things to know

3) 737 will give you the most flexiblility to start

Thanks! If WB is the long-term goal, any advice?

Makes sense! So, to minimize the number of moves I'd have to do, it would be wise to try to bid an NB at the base that I'm most likely to get to a WB faster, like SFO or EWR. Is that a logical thought process or did I miss something? I'd like to limit the amount of times I have to move in the next 10 years, if possible (and I don't want to commute if I can help it).
