FYI. If you are in the same boat as I am, (will have to reapply in January due to CJO expiration), you will have to meet PIC requirements. It's my understanding those requirements are back again. I am low time 4,500hrs, 3,000hrs 121, 0 PIC and so are a ton of other people. So, that means you may be waiting awhile to be added to a mixture of other experience levels to create a class. When I reapply I will no longer be interviewed without PIC time.
It's not right or wrong it's just how it is. I missed the wave is all. I have friends with less time than I and they were on top of things with their applications. They are livin' the dream now.

It’s been understood for a long time that PIC, as in the the final authority, what airlines mean on their requirements, is not always inclusive of PIC time for the purposes of obtaining a new certificate/rating. The prerequisite hours for ATP can be met in a number of manners. But being the one in charge is what the airlines mean

I would recomend EWR then look at living in Monmouth CO near middletown . Close to the beach and plenty of parks and countryside and lots to do. It is only 30-45 mins from EWR. schools are good and plenty to do, great beaches , parks and so much more father son stuff. Good luck.
