Yes, very dynamic and first come first serve. Keep open comms with the pilot recruiting email with your desires. Had a guy in class next to me who was literally flying a trip the day before class with his previous company. Got the class date within minutes after it became available. Email correspondence for all is my understanding. Saved him 70+ people being senior to him…

New classes - No training delays, expect a pretty swift training progression.
Example 737 Fleet for 10/18 Class:
17 day Indoc now flows directly into 737 Fleet Training 11/10/22 - 12/14/22.(Unofficially Official/Tentatively Published)
*2 days off every 5 days of Basic Indoc; PS Travel provided for all breaks. The long gaps in training were fixed by prioritizing newest classes, and catching up with more senior, but we are told the backlog is resolved.

The best answer is that it can't hurt. LCAs from regionals are not getting interviews with multiple internals, but a military fighter guy gets an interview with zero internals. The only things that appears to help your app is a meet-and-greet with a chief pilot. Those guys writing those internal recs can set that up for you.
