If you can prove to me a cooking or business degree will make you a better pilot I’ll believe in the Aviate program. The truth is it doesn’t at all. Real world experience will teach you all that. Do you want a guy that can make the best omelette you’ve ever had or do you want a person that can help you fly the plane while you handle the emergency. Pick one and please don’t pick on a empty stomach.
Clearly United isn't a good match for you. Perhaps you should move along.

I’m also at United.
I also have a BS degree.
As in….my degree is total B.S. Finished it for the SOLE reason of checking the box to get the interview.
It worked.
Its a pointless requirement…but not completing it is the APPLICANT’S choice….and it’s not a smart choice.
The job is worth it.

My question for you is why are you spending time arguing that United should change to accommodate you when you could easily go work for one of the carriers you mention above? Move on and make a career with an airline in which you can thrive and offer all this flying experience you have. Best of luck to you!

I don't have to prove ANYTHING to you. I'm already at United (& have a BS degree). And I really don't care if you believe in the Aviate program TBH. If you would like to compare real world experience with me just let me know.

There are good candidates out there we need to get online with United and they are going elsewhere. But to each his own hopefully Aviate will see this with time.

So apparently the United Aviate academy is having great success. The problem now is that United has all the students with false hopes of where they are going after the academy. All there regional carriers are bleeding pilots leaving for better things, even leaving to other regionals due to them paying on average $40 more a hour. If your considering Aviate RUN ! Don’t drink the kool aid. You’ll end up doing all your training and have no regional carrier to go to and then you’ll end up at American Carrier starting another flow program. The good thing is they will at least give you a # on a list and you know it will be 5 years, unlike the imaginary list that exists at United.

He does have some valid points about the AVIATE "program". I wanted my son to go thru the Aviate program, but it's a joke and does not show any signs of becoming anything more than a flight school like ATP.
