I'm also a SWA guy. How easy is it for reserves to break guarantee and by what margin? As flyguy81 mentioned, at SWA, you'll make more than guarantee the instant you're called out, and if you get rerouted while on the road or otherwise messed with, you'll make substantially more than guarantee. In other words, if you're starting a month with 90 TFP, it's not uncommon to finish the month with around 120 TFP and seen it as high as 145 TFP without picking up anything on your days off.

Their reserves make 6 TO START. 6.5 if used. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

For most people, the reserve rules are bad enough that only very junior people do it and on a NB only for a short time nowadays, if at all. After that, that it’s a choice to sit reserve again through upgrades or changing fleets.

Re-routes just aren’t that common here, nor would they have an affect on your pay in the same manner that they would at SWA for lineholders or reserves.

In fairness, it's 6 TFP which loosely translated is 5.22 per hour. To roughly convert our TFP rates to 'per hour', you divide TFP value by 1.149.

Thank you for that explanation. But don't you guys have long call also? That's one of the bones of contention with us as our reserve is short call and has no trip ownership. In other words, someone on a day off can take your trip off of you and extra fly it for straight time (fairly common when there was no premium being doled out), and regardless you're still on the hook for your RAP start even if you have a trip assigned later - in other words, you'd have to commute to be in for your RAP regardless of the current trip assignment. And speaking of RAP's, our AM blocks start at 0300 to 1700 for AM reserves, or 1100-0100 for PM reserves. I understand you guys have different start times? And also I understand your global reserve is completely different from domestic too, right?
