Their reassignment rules were already better than ours, nothing into a day off unless it’s a mechanical out of base or something and it’s just not possible to get you home.

side note I got reassigned just about every bad weather day this spring and summer, multiple times into a day off. It’s basically RJ rules out there on the NB fleets.
I’m on a NB—I get reassigned once every few years. Delta’s reassignment rules are not better than our current book, IMO and based on my friends there, it’s is a very frequent occurrence. The improvements they made are more reminiscent of Tumi—I.e. fixed by pay.

I got reassigned into a day off 3 times last summer.

I don’t care about the “restored day” or extra pay. I want to fly the trips I bid and get home when I’m scheduled to.

my NB friend at Delta has never been extended into a day off in 5 years.

honestly without seeing the actual delta language I don’t trust any TA comparison ALPA pushed out when they were trying to sell this turd. Many of their comparisons or facts were at minimum misleading by omission.

if Delta’s language is in fact worse then I want our rules
plus the “we get you back in your original trip or release you when you transit your base” clause.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I’d say that’s above average for sure; the last time I got reassigned was in Jan 2022 and before that was pre-COVID so I can’t even remember when. Those are comparisons on our current book, BTW, not the TA.

I know, but those were released to make our current book look better than other airlines so we’d accept a mediocre TA. “What more could you want? We’re already so much better than AA/DL”

I had my fill of cancelled plans at the regionals. I don’t want to do it again here. At least there was a limit at the regionals as to how many times they could rob you of a day off in a year.

Either way, my last point still stands.

I guess I'm missing your point, then. I prefer to be reassigned less. Our current book does that better than Delta's. I don't want to trade (like Tumi did and Delta's provides for) more cash for more reassignments.

You must not be on a narrow body. I get reassigned at least monthly and sometimes weekly in the summers. It would be huge for me and the people I know on the Guppy and Bus. 150 or 200% and must be put back on the trip or released (and pay protected) next time through domicile would be a VAST improvement over current book.

The point I want out of Delta’s AIP is that they get you back on your original trip or release you when you pass through base after a reassignment. No reason we couldn’t get that with the rest of our current reassignment language.

I would also personally prefer to get reassigned more if it meant they had to get me back within 4 hours of my original block time. I’d prefer to fly what I originally bid but robbing a day off is about the greatest sin an employer can do to me.

You guys have no idea how badly this reassignment **** gets abused when staffing gets tight. Especially since there is 0 limit to how many times they can extend you into a day off.

What about some type of provision to reduce the number of plane swaps ? I know it’s far fetched but you never know . It’s aggravating as hell when you have 58 min on the ground , gotta do a plane swap and it’s in another terminal far away.
Swapping out of a 900 for another 900and both planes are headed back to outstations dosent make sense. Then to top it off , your new fa’s will go ahead and board your new plane before you guys get there and now the captain has to do his Crew brief while pax are boarding, and the FO is trying to get past the pax to go do the walk around. Not a good look . The other day we had 3 legs, swapped planes twice for no reason.
There should be some human intervention in the process.

im off my soap box now

They need to design reserve in such a way that senior people will bid it, like they said the first time. Not just throw 1 hour of add pay to it. There needs to be a system that they call you in seniority order for reserve trips. If you're very senior, you might not fly at all kind of thing. Junior reserve, you're getting called first every time, sorry. Pair that with a limited number of short calls, and extra pay just to sit short call and we would be getting somewhere.
