Yup, I am for sure. I did plenty of Caribbean flying in my past lives, its not that special anymore.

I'm not sure why the 321 deliveries are used to make a QOL argument in the near term. Yes they will have great layovers...when they get delivered in enough numbers to where those trips are junior enough to get them. I think the latest projection is 12 at the end of this year and 31 next year. I wouldn't be shocked if it's ~2 years from now until you can even get those trips. So if layovers are a big deal to you why go to the bus now and wait ~2 years to get those sweet layovers, when you could fly something that already has good layovers until your seat lock is up and then just lateral over to the airbus?

Also have they even announced which bases would get the most 321's? I assume it will mirror the 756 footprint but I haven't heard the exact plans.

That’s what fatigue calls are for.

Show me on the doll where the bad military guy touched you... or your wife.

I used it to illustrate the fact that layovers come and go. The Bus used to do a lot of Carribbean flying and CUN too. Then we merged and that flying went away. The 321’s will change where Bus pilots layover.

it’s funny. It’s as if the guppy pilots have a complex or something so they toss out the “The Bus does regional flying.” or “our layovers are better!” to make themselves feel better. As if what one persons preference for a layover is a universal constant. Well except MUC. Everyone loves a MUC layover. I see plenty of guppies in SYR or ALB or the aforementioned -54 in BZN and other “undesired” locations. Heck, some deem downtown SEA or SFO or NYC or pick any major city as undesirable, yet I enjoy those.

As far as where the 321’s will be based… same type so any current Bus base will see them though the XLR’s are the designated 757 replacement so most likely primarily focused on EWR and IAD.

I just looked at the guy who’s one number jr to me in Den. He’s a 737 Capt so he’s actually about 10% senior in seat and fleet to me on the Bus. His month is almost exactly the same as mine except he’s got 1 HNL layover and one 4 leg day. I’ve got a couple of 3 leg days and the rest are 2 or 1 leg days, in May. My layovers are JAC x 2 a BZN, BUR, RIC and LGA. No DSM but he has a DSM. Just pointing out how similar our flying really is. With the occasional HNL being the only real difference.

and while theBus doesn’t currently do Hawaii, it will. Plus Europe when the XLR’s arrive.
There are approximately 0 PVR / SJD layovers of any length on the airbus, in any base.

I highly doubt they will go to Hawaii. They will likely do EWR/BOS redeyes out of sfo

Why do you “highly” doubt the 321 will do Hawaii?

Thats correct, it’s a 757 replacement as far as the routes it’ll fly.
