I'm astonished that you keep toeing the Todd line when his TUMI turd was such an EPIC failure. WAY TO GO UA PILOTS!! And, this is your last contract? Have you learned NOTHING over the last 30-40 years? No need to answer. You have repeatedly answered that question time and time again. But please, keep digging. It's entertaining as hell!

How long was Insler in office? He brought forth a steaming pile of excrement and knelt at the altar of Kirby for YEARS. And how long was his replacement in business before he came up with a significantly better TA?

Wow.

Maybe by being an FO for 30 years? AW has larger testes and more blue-collar bona fides than the ENTIRE TI group combined. There are a TON of 25-30 year FOs at UAL. And for very good reasons. An arbitrary means of dismissing all that experience from a leadership position is a very bad idea.

Why do FOs and CAs need separate reps? This sounds like another item to add to the long list of antiquated and irrational ALPA practices along with driving U-Hauls around the airport as billboards. We need some fresh blood to
bring us into this century.

Because both groups have different needs and wants?

It’s no more of a conflict than a super senior lineholder FO holding that spot “not being able to understand” a super junior reserve. Or a WB FO representing NB FO’s.

Just seems like another cheap shot from the people that brought us Tumi. I just don’t care if someone upgrades halfway through their term. They don’t suddenly forget what it was like to be an FO the day they show up to charm school. I’d rather they finish out their term and then be ineligible for reelection.
Not day one, but they definitely do seem to forget at one point. Just wonder what point that is. I agree it doesn’t make much sense. Was just saying it isn’t difficult to do.

Sure, but so do commuters vs. locals, LHers vs. reserves, WB vs. NB, etc. Some of those distinctions (in terms of needs and wants) seem as large to me as CA vs. FO.

But those can all be sub categories to being a CA or being an FO. Makes sense to me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Has anyone heard from their reps if retro checks could be elected to be contributed to one’s 401(k) — either full amount, $, or %?

that language is being finalized. You need to wait until the lawyers get done lawyering.

Keep in mind that IF the retro is allowed to be contributed to your 401k it would still be subject to the individual contribution and/or 415c limits so if you are someone who already maxes out your stuff , you won’t be Able to contribute any of your retro.

note: the limits considered would be for the respective tax year, so 2020 retro for 2020 limits ect not the current year.
