If we can keep it, we won’t get a new one for half a decade or more. So settle in.
Glad to see you voted for the long term. Enjoy your sub Delta contract, because without the unfilled captain leverage the next one won’t be as good.

I’d rather have our sub Delta contract as it is than have their sub United scope language.

The captain solution only works in times of rapid growth with a good supply of experienced regional pilots. Much better than generic junior man at company whim.

It works in times of contraction, too. Very well. Too well.

How will they force new hires into captain slots while contracting?

If you have a good number of junior folks in the left seat of the NB fleets, it makes it much much easier for the company to furlough quickly. Ultimate variablization tool.

CA went very senior in today's new hire class with no one forced into a CA slot. First five (and seven of the top eight) all picked CA. Last CA slot went nine from the bottom, so the last eight were all "forced" into FO.

Im willing to bet those top 9 are very experienced pilots too…..probably have a lot of former CA time in 121.

Im glad it worked out that way!

Man, I'm sure glad they weren't forced into WB FO. With their lack of experience and time on property that probably would have been tantamount to a safety faux paw.
