Spot on. Losses in winter, profits in summer.

Any of the old heads recall what the 2019 ps percentage was? What was the highest you’ve seen here? I’m guessing 7.9% is among the highest but just curious if there’s historical data.

It was 7.6724%. You can see it by using the pulldown menu on your current statement and selecting a previous year.

Thanks. My drop-down doesn’t go back past 2022, guessing because I am a 2019 hire.

To add some context, the 2015-2016 years were the end of Smiseks tenure. The product sucked, the contracts were only one step past BK era UPA, and Smiseks style was to squeeze every cent possible out of the operation to please the shareholders (APU off arrivals LOL).

This strategy only works for a few years until your customers find a better product elsewhere. But for a few years, the PS was large. Nowadays we invest in new equipment and new contracts. Although the percentage these last few years is less, I wouldn't trade positions with 2015 me.

That's good insight, thank you.

Appreciate the insight but I'm not sure of the veracity of your assumptions. Smisek comments may be spot on, but I'm not sure of that in relation to the "big" PS for 2015-2016

Delta profit sharing ...

2015 21.5%

2016 17.8%

So those years that UAL had good PS numbers at the end of Smisek's reign(2015-2016), Delta had the same relative huge profit sharing bump. Oh, and Delta was getting 16% DC on top of that 21.5%(effectively making it an eye popping 24.94% of pay) !!!!

Page 51 of the PWA contract comparision from sep 2023 page 51 shows a good comparision among all the carriers of "Historical Profit Sharing Payout as% of Pay"

I'd post it but I can't figure out how to do so.

My emojii's quit working on APC, anybody? That part of the update that the green "auto saved" nusance update?

edit Look at that. Emojii came up after putting in colon, left paren my emojiis don't populate on the tab of the editor at top. Anybody?
