2022 Q4 pre tax earnings was $1130M. Maybe I’m reading the earnings reports incorrectly.

I would guess there are only about 14100 pilots eligible, assuming we hired 2500 last year. $300K is probably a little high for an average salary, I'm going with $250K. That works out to be 12%. I understand my guess is just as useless as the next guys.....

My revised estimate for pre-tax profit is 3.35B.
United is estimating 1.5 per share, analysts estimate 1.67. Last quater we posted a 3.48 EPS on 1.5B pre tax. Therefore our profit for this quarter should fall somewhere in the 700M range. We had 2.6B in pre-tax profit leading up to Q3.

This thread is about “2023 Profit Sharing”, reference the title of the thread, that normally sometimes maybe indicates what the thread will be loosely about…
Year over year data is often used as a benchmark for quarterly earnings, and for United it is absolutely used that way. Since we don’t have 2023 Q4 numbers I took the average margin increase of 2023 Q1/2/3 and applied that to 2022 Q4 to ESTIMATE 2023 Q4 and the total pool. Have a better method to estimate, please share it. Or just **** and sit on your hands for another two weeks and we’ll get the actual data.
