Ryan air believes max 10 certified by year end , though United recently said 2026/2027 so who knows. Can point to movement.
Let’s assume this is 100% accurate, how would max 10 certification increase delivery rates? I know there there are at least 1 or 2 ua max 10’s already built and painted. But even if those are delivered I wouldn’t think giving Boeing another model to build with the same number of factory lines would speed things up.

Some CA was telling me that it was 20 MAX 10s painted and ready to go pending certification. Idk how to verify something like that. Someone smarter out there would be able to see if that’s true or not. If it is, that’s a lot of hiring to do to be able to utilize all the airplanes

Dont forget some built for other airlines that no longer need them. For instance China was refusing Boeing planes for a while, not sure if that’s changed. We are receiving 787s faster than expected I believe, just took one two days ago too

Or a lot of retiring of older less fuel and maintenance demanding aircraft…

I thought we were just receiving some 787s that were supposed to be delivered last year, and that's why the 787 FO seat is OVERSTAFFED around multiple bases...

We’re supposed to get 10ish 787’s this year and about 2 per month next year. If Boeing can keep up…

Why would they drastically increase hiring if that's the case?

That was an either or statement. If they weren’t hiring more pilots they could deal with the incoming aircraft by retiring some of the older aircraft. The 757/767 and some of the A320s are both getting a little long in the tooth. But clearly, I’m all for more hiring for the new aircraft and keeping the others as long as they are economically competitive.

We have 1,340 787s on property and there are 1,290 as the current min staffing. That's 3.7% "overstaffed" lol. As a matter of fact the last vacancy bid had 787 FO BACKFILLS in LAX, SFO and DEN.
