The latest FOU confirms that we are no longer the launch customer for the -10 and that Delta will be. Estimated certification 2026 Q4 and our first delivery mid-2027.

This was the "estimate" in November. Here's what it looks like now with rough actual hires and projections.
January: 96
Feb: 218
Mar: 209
Apr: 201 (They added a class of 50 that wasn't on the original schedule)
May: 29
June: 30
July: 30
August: 21
Sep: 24
Oct: 30
Nov: 30 (now 200)
Dec: 88 (now 200)
TOTAL: 956 (now 1,288)
300+ more pilots than were planned just a few months ago. 2026 goal is 2X 2025 so 2,500+ pilots, which makes sense with all the deliveries coming next year.

What are you talking about? United hasn't been delaying pilot hiring to "next year".
In 2021 we hired 1,230 pilots
In 2022 we hired 2,510 pilots
In 2023 we hired 2,349 pilots
In 2024 we hired 1,317 pilots
We have hired 637 already in 2025 (only adding 50 planes this year) and will end up around 1,300 at the end of the year per the latest update.
Estimate for 2026 is in the ballpark of how many we hired in 2022 and 2023.
Many other airlines aren't hiring or even have furloughs. Compared to other airlines our pilot hiring is off the charts.

Despite not even being on property I can’t agree more with this. The amount of pilots from my two regionals that I know since Covid that have been picked up by United is huge. Very little to DL & AA. Some to non-legacies but United has been their choice #1 and got it.

48 MAX 9s
46 A-321 NEOs
16 787s in 2026 (just updated on delivery website)
Unknown MAX 10 and 321 XLRs
110 new planes (minus retirements) and doesn't count XLR or MAX 10, but who knows.
Could be more or less. 2026 will be a big hiring year. Probably set a record given 558 retirements in 2026.
