In the afternoon after your first day at AA update your application to "AA First Officer" as your present employer. I'll bet you have an invite within a week.

would you mind sharing your flight time details?

that’s what I was told after I started with Southwest… A year and a half later still waiting (im)patiently.

7200TT, 5500 airline, 785TPIC (A320), currently a downgraded Spirit FO. I think what helped is that a lady I know outside aviation has an aunt who works in United corporate and has some connection to flight ops. She requested my resume. A week later I get the Hogan email. Interview scheduled for next month.

And, yes, United is hiring. Slow for the summer, likely to accelerate substantially late '25 and '26.
Yes, that's my plan. No way I'm passing up a way out of Spirit.

Curious how many apps United currently has on file?

Thoughts? Knowledge?

Heard from a recruiter a few weeks ago—150 traditional applicants and 150 Aviate/UMPP, so about 300 total in the pool. Sounds like they’re planning to take on 200 in each of Oct/Nov/Dec, and around 2,000 next year.

The word is that most interviews moving forward will be for traditional applicants. Best shot at landing one seems to be through a CPO meet and greet or hitting multiple conferences.

Just passing along what I heard—not sure how much the recruiters are actually able to share.

I just received the assessment in the last few days so we’ll see what comes of that. 5,500ish TT, over 1k A320 PIC, 4 LOR’s and no degree. I also did a meet and greet last year and was told I was being recommended so that certainly helps as well.

Usually airlines have 3 to 5000+ apps on file.

what I’m reading is their pulling 300 out of the apps on file for the near future?

thank you
