Green card holder here with 6k hours flying in Canada, currently working at a Canadian legacy. I've had my professionally reviewed application in for 8 months, attended conferences, done a meet and greet, have multiple internal references and haven't heard anything at all. I know hiring is slow right now but does anyone have any advice on how to be seen? I'm not even hearing back from the regionals.

It's very slow on the hiring side across the board. Planes being delayed, Spirit/Frontier shedding qualified pilots. Flow agreements from the RJ's all have brought off the street hiring to a trickle. Have you reached out to one of the interview consulting firms like emerald (not an endorsement, there are a few), they usually have their finger on the pulse of what each airline is looking for to snag an invite.

Keep flying and updating your app regularly. UA will be hiring in low 2000s next year from what I’ve been hearing. AA shouldn’t be far behind and Delta should be doing some hiring too. Boeing is finally caught up and ahead of schedule with certain carriers like UA. Things will start moving again, just gonna take a little bit.

Is United actively interviewing and running classes at the moment? I just got the email for the Hogan. I have a CJO with American and am expecting a September class, but United would be my first choice.

One class a month until August or September I believe. Then going back to 2-3 month. Anticipating 200/month Nov and Dec. From what I’ve gathered most if not all classes are filled with CJOs already and if they are interviewing now it’s to fill classes for 2026. Planning for low 2ks for hiring in 2026.

I got an email last week stating they had reviewed my app and to proceed with the app I must update my currency, specifically flight time in the last 12 months. I hadn’t updated my app in a couple months. Did that and haven’t heard back. Just wondering if I should be hopeful or is it just a generic email, anyone else receive anything similar?

This is a VERY simple answer. You go to the American class. period. full stop. Finis. Kaput.

You keep applying to United. If/when you have a United class date, you decide.

And, yes, United is hiring. Slow for the summer, likely to accelerate substantially late '25 and '26.
